The organization that filed the proposed class action alleges marketing for the product tricks parents of young children who have grown out of infant formula.

Abbott Laboratories “purposely marketed” toddler milks to portray them as the next recommended step in a child’s diet – but the sugary drinks can actually cause health issues like obesity, according to a lawsuit.

The Public Health Advocacy Institute filed the suit in federal court Tuesday, calling toddler milk a marketing ploy to keep parents and caregivers using Abbott products as their children age.
